Parkrun morn­ing of first timers and PBs

RUN­NING: Justin Helsham was once again the first across the line at Airlie Beach parkrun on Satur­day.

Cross­ing the line in a time of 19.17, Helsham crossed in front of sec­ond placed first timer Leigh Kane in 19.26 and Mark Ogilvie in 20.09.

Cas­san­dra Car­man crossed first for the ladies in a time of 22.40 in a per­sonal best per­for­mance.

Riana Young Cashinella was also pushed to break her pre­vi­ous per­sonal best time to come sec­ond in 23.06. Wendy Ver­sluis also man­aged third in her first ever parkrun.

A to­tal of 60 run­ners hit Abell Point Ma­rina for the start­ing line on Satur­day with seven per­sonal best times achieved.

Vol­un­teers Bob Bar­ford, Shane Bellert, Mar­garet Coote, Ayla Hadley, Re­becca Hadley, Karen Mad­dock, Sylvie Martin, Ti­mothy Mc­quoid-Ma­son and Ruth Roberts helped on the day.

Any run­ners con­sid­er­ing parkrun should go on­line, print a bar­code and be at Abell Point Ma­rina by 7am on Satur­day.

With 14 run­ners com­pet­ing in their first run this week, it’s an event that ev­ery­one is wel­come to at­tend.
