LEAVING his belongings in a taxi to pay for the fare has cost Katene Mehana $650.
The 31-year-old from Cameron Park told the court on Monday he’d had a fight with his room mate about 2am
on May 27 when he hopped in a cab to Proserpine BP, couldn’t pay the fare and told the cab driver to keep his two duffel bags as payment.
After the driver handed the items to police, they found a small quantity of methylamphetamine and a pipe.
They contacted Mehana through his driver’s licence and he was charged.
