No more chances

Whitsunday Times - - NEWS -

ONE man has been sent to jail after his chances finally ran out.

After frequent driving-related crimes, Socrates Menegakis was sentenced to six months imprisonment on Monday, with a parole release date of August 12.

The 38-year-old Cannonvale man pleaded guilty to charges of driving on a suspended licence, driving uninsured, unregistered and without the proper number plates after being stopped by police in Cannonvale on March 10.

With an atrocious driving record, the court heard Menegakis had already been charged with three unlicensed driving offences in the past five years, including disqualified driving charges, and he was already on a three-month suspended prison sentence.

On top of his prison sentence, Menegakis was disqualified from driving for five years and fined $1000.
