Bullarama to bring the bull
Jubilee Tavern set to host massive night full of quality bull riding
IF YOU’RE looking for a night of fun for the whole family, look no further than the Bullarama.
In conjunction with the Proserpine Rodeo Association and the Jubilee Tavern, an entire night of bull riding action is set to hit the Whitsundays.
Jubilee Tavern manager Craig Bradley said the idea for the event had been around for a while and it would also serve as a low-key fundraiser.
“This is an event you can bring your family along to and have a good night,” he said.
“Really, it’s just a great night of entertainment. It caters for everyone and it doesn’t go too late.”
It will be the first time the event will be hosted by Jubilee Tavern, with it set to take place in their car park.
There will be of course the tarvern’s bar and bistro open on the night as well an an after party, with Fraud Squad set to keep the night going with a gig in the tavern after the show.
There will be five bull riding categories on the night including the open bull, rookie, junior, steer and poddy rides.
Proserpine Rodeo Association’s Jemal Ferraris said people should expect an action packed night.
“It’s always pretty high quality,” he said.
“Of course, sometimes the bull wins, sometimes the rider does.”
There will be a special addition on the night with two completely new riders set to enter the ring.
“We’re going to chuck two young fellas in there that have never ridden a bull before,” Mr Farraris said.
“They are a couple of local boys but I can’t say who. It’s going to a surprise and they’re doing it to raise money.”
The main event is the open bull ride and Mr Ferraris said it was always a crowd pleaser.
“It depend on nominations of course but I expect some pretty stiff competition,” he said.
Tickets must be bought on the day at the gate.
