Ni­col nabs round score of the day

GOLF: Forty-five mem­bers played a stroke event last Thurs­day in good con­di­tions.

Best score of the day was Paul Ni­col with nett 65, who won the B-grade prize, from Tim McBride with 69.

A grade was taken out by Craig Langevad, 67, from War­ren Deighton on 70.

The nine-hole comp was won by War­ren Deighton, 32, fol­lowed by Joe Tay­lor and Craig Langevad, 33.

Ladies played their May Monthly Medal on Satur­day, catch­ing up on the monthly medals as May's was washed out.

The win­ner was Robyn Mills with 68 nett. Run­ner-up was Jill Farinelli, 70, fol­lowed by Jac­qui Wall on 73.

Thirty-seven men played for the Metropole stable­ford, which was won by The­u­nis Ven­ter on 42 points. Run­ner-up was John Roser on 41.

Next week the Thurs­day men play an Ir­ish stable­ford teams event.

Fri­day (show hol­i­day) is the XXXX three-per­son am­brose. Reg­is­ter at 9.30am for a 10.30am shot­gun start.

Satur­day will be a sin­gle stroke event for McNeill Build­ing tro­phy, which will in­clude the ladies’ June Monthly Medal.
