The chamber attended the TW meeting with Kerry Smeltzer from the Department of Tourism, Major Events, Small Business with a view to declaring the entire Whitsunday Region Recovery a “Prescribed Project”.

It means that the Co-ordinator General will have extraordinary powers to assist with, streamline and remove many approval processes and delays for significant projects in the area. Now is the time to initiate any new development, expansion or redevelopment project.

Memberships are due and I encourage all existing members to renew.

Any new businesses considering joining are welcome to phone me directly on 0419 343 345.

The business community needs a voice to have any say in the development of the region.

Things are slowly starting to progress and there are some exciting projects being discussed for the mainland as well as recovery for the island resorts.
