Abernethy and Wecker combo sinks win in two ball contest
GOLF: With Proserpine Golf Course now well into recovery mode following ex-Tropical Cyclone Debbie, the improvement in the course condition over the last week was very noticeable.
The improvements made Whitsunday Golf Club’s two ball Ambrose competition last Sunday even more enjoyable.
Players benefited from more run on the fairways and improved greens making the competition tight for winning positions.
The overall winners on the day were Leanne Abernethy and Rod Wecker.
Runners-up were Ian Giles and Mick Caton.
Coming third was the team of Mark McDougall and Danny York. They were followed by Joanne Moynihan and Kym Hill on a countback from Linda and Scotty Wardroper on a countback from Karen Rix and Don Cameron.
The longest drive of the day in Men’s A was Kym Hill and in Men’s B it was Mark McDougall.
