THE last thing Vanessa Dale expected during a routine shopping trip to Coles last week was to be gifted flowers from a stranger.

Ducking into the fruit and vegie section to grab some strawberries, Ms Dale turned around to see her three-year-old son, Finn, with a huge bunch of flowers.

Before she has time to say “no Finn, put them back” a woman was offering to buy the posy.

It turns out the woman’s name is Tanya Holt and she has a reputation for being a regular Mother Teresa.

“She is just so nice. I put it on Facebook to just say a thank you and it has gone crazy online,” Ms Dale said.

“She burst into tears after I burst into tears and she started to tell me about the hard time she is having.”

Ms Holt had her wallet stolen the day before with $700 in it.

Ms Dale said: “It was just so nice that Finn wanted to give me flowers and someone I didn’t know made me so happy for days.”
