Bask in our glorious Qld Youth Orchestra
AFTER their 50th anniversary last year, the Queensland Youth Orchestra will be celebrating with the Proserpine community in style.
The Jazz n Shiraz event at the RSL is promises to be a massive night of music with the orchestra featuring a 17-piece big jazz band and a vocalist.
Due to Proserpine Entertainment Centre still being out of action, the RSL function room will host the special night with full bar services available on the night.
Held in cabaret style, organisers are recommending guests book their tables to avoid missing out.
The QYO Big Band is based in Brisbane and regularly performs on tour through regional Queensland and throughout Australia.
Conductor Rafael Karlen programs advanced big band charts, both instrumental and with a vocalist, and he is one of Australia’s leading band directors and composers.

Since its establishment 50 years ago, the band has performed at the Darling Harbour Jazz Festival in Sydney, the Winton Outback Festival, Brisbane’s River Festival, the Noosa Jazz Festival and the Redland Spring Festival.
QYO Big Band has also perofrmed with multi-award winning country star Troy Cassar-Daley over the past two years.
