Highly anticipated thriller to hit the screen

Whitsunday Times - - CHILL -

SHOWING this week in Bowen is the Second World War thriller Dunkirk.

This 2017 version comes from acclaimed director Christopher Nolan.

The plot centres around the 1940 evacuation of more than 300,000 Allied troops from the French city of Dunkirk before Nazi forces can take hold.

Events are portrayed from three different perspectives – land, sea and air.

The star-studded cast includes Tom Hardy, Kenneth Branagh and Mark Rylance, with longtime Nolan collaborator Hans Zimmer providing the score.

Critics have so far posted

glowing reviews on social media.

“Chaotic, relentless, thrilling and one of the most captivating movies you will see this year” is just one of the ways the film has been described.

Nolan’s films are generally among the most highly anticipated, whether they’re twist-heavy thrillers, superhero blockbusters or sci-fi spectaculars and Dunkirk is said to be unlike anything seen from him before.
