Mulkadee Fest is one of a kind

A BRIGHT group of St Cather­ine’s Catholic Col­lege stu­dents trav­elled to Townsville from July 17-21 to take part in the Mulkadee Youth Arts Fes­ti­val.

The fes­ti­val is a unique ini­tia­tive or­gan­ised by Townsville Catholic Ed­u­ca­tion.

The Mulkadee Fes­ti­val is the only event of its kind in Aus­tralia, of­fer­ing a week-long pro­gram of artis­tic work­shops led by pro­fes­sional in­struc­tors across a wide range of fields, in­clud­ing choir, dance, drama, band, gui­tar and strings.

More than 1000 stu­dents across Years 5-12 and teach­ers from Catholic schools through­out the Townsville Dio­cese par­tic­i­pated in the work­shops.

This cul­mi­nated in a con­cert at the Townsville En­ter­tain­ment and Con­ven­tion Cen­tre last Fri­day.
