Hill wins in A-Grade and near­est the pin

GOLF: It was a nippy start to the morn­ing which warmed to a glo­ri­ously un­sea­son­ally warm win­ter’s day on Proser­pine golf course last Sun­day when 24 Whit­sun­day golfers played a sin­gle stroke com­pe­ti­tion.

Golf­ing con­di­tions were ideal and some very good scores came in on the day.

Gary God­dard won A-Grade and near­est the pin, Ti­ina Rand­mae had a per­sonal best and both achieved scores well ahead of the rest of the field.

Donny Hope took out a best gross and two NTPs, and Kym Hill won A-Grade and an NTP.

One pri­vately owned golf cart tack­led a tree stump on the course, re­sult­ing in a fat lip for the pas­sen­ger but no ma­jor in­juries in­curred. Men’s A Grade

Run­ner-up: An­thony Gwal­ter on net 71 on a count­back over 12 holes from Best Gross Score: Ge­off Har­ri­son

Long­est Drive: An­thony Gwal­ter Men’s B Grade Win­ner: Gary God­dard on

Long­est drive: Mark Win­ter Ladies

Win­ner: Ti­ina Rand­mae on net 63

Run­ner-up: Beryl Miller on net 72

Best gross score: Pam Casey

Long­est drive: Pam Casey and Vicki Tuck Near­est the pins Ge­off Har­ri­son wins on the sec­ond shot of the ninth hole and Donny Hope claims NTP on his first shot on the 13th hole.

In the men’s A-Grade NTP Ron Jamieson wins with the sec­ond shot on the sec­ond hole and Kym Hill wins with his first shot on hole 16.

Donny Hope takes out the men’s B-Grade with his sec­ond shot on the sec­ond hole and Gary God­dard wins with his first shot on hole 16.

Karen Rix takes the ladies’ win with her sec­ond shot on hole 16.

The Proser­pine course will be closed the next two Sun­days.
