TENNIS: Last Tuesday evening’s tennis completed the Wimbledon tournament the Whitsunday way, with Clace Brady and Chris Raiteri the outright winners of the round robin.

The eight pairs competing showed outstanding sportsmanship and fabulous tennis.

Norm Hold and Daniel Scott made it tough for their opponents.

Last Thursday night Matt and Brendon returned to the courts.

Saturday’s “Just Do It Junior Tennis” was a blast, with all four courts in action, including parents and children enjoying each other’s company, plenty of enthusiastic running down of tennis balls and a healthy morning tea. Tracie Bleine helped in organising.

Friday was a big day at the courts with the “Brekky Group” out on court practising rallies and the Mercury group working on their serving skills. Well done to Ray Cook, Jack Ganter and Oscar and Jamie.

Not to be left out were the girls taking part in Fit, fun tennis. Liz and Kerry tackled each drill with gusto.

Coaching pupils of the week were Hannah, Alex and Elizabeth Gill.
