Club wel­comes old player back

BRIDGE: An old favourite of the Air­lie Beach bridge club was wel­comed back to the ta­ble this week.

Gwen Sheer had two good play­ing meet­ings on Mon­day and Thurs­day.

On Mon­day af­ter­noon David and Jan Mar­shall were nar­row win­ners from Linda Pri­day and Gil­lian Blackie with Dewi Hughes and Joy El­lis com­ing in third.

On Thurs­day evening with seven play­ers, in­di­vid­ual scores saw David Mar­shall in the win­ner’s cir­cle for the sec­ond time for the week from run­ner-up Dewi Hughes, fol­lowed by Gwen Sheer, Linda Pri­day, Jan Mar­shall, Tr­ish Rouse and Neil Cawthorne.

From Au­gust 1 the club is chang­ing its two weekly meet­ings to Tues­day evenings from 6.30pm and Fri­day morn­ings from 9.30am which is be­lieved will see at­ten­dances in­crease from the neigh­bour­ing Proser­pine and Bowen bridge clubs, as Mon­days and Thurs­days are their meet­ing days.

Visi­tors and res­i­dent so­cial play­ers are very wel­come to the Tues­day evening from 6.30pm and Fri­day morn­ing ses­sions from 9.30am at the Whit­sun­day Neigh­bour­hood Cen­tre. For more de­tails ring Linda Pri­day on 0432 777 571.
