What about Logan?

Whitsunday Times - - YOUR SAY -

IN LAST week’s edition of the Whitsunday Times (Page 5) there was a large “photo op” and statement regarding Cannonvale Beach undertaking an upgrade post Cyclone Debbie.

Councillor Ron Petterson, Mark Callaghan and Joanne Henessy proudly announced the development of a new playground.

I find this an interesting concept given that Logan’s Children’s Playground is already established nearby, albeit severely smashed during Debbie.

Lisa Christofersen’s committee has been requesting further financial support for the development/purchase of equipment for many years from local, state and federal governments.

Gorgeous Logan Wells was a young local.

He sadly passed away from his illness and his dedicated family have strived for many years to establish a playground for children to “shine in” and enjoy, form friendships and develop skills in Logan’s memory.

Instead of building a new playground, could funding instead be redirected to Logan’s Playground? It makes sense to me.

Kids loved gliding down Logan’s flying fox and enjoying his playground.

Furthermore, perhaps the picket fence which locals sponsored and paid for could be repaired at government expense?
