Goldman takes A-grade prize from Douth­waite

GOLF: On Satur­day the golf club played its monthly medal in both men’s and ladies’ com­pe­ti­tions.

Forty-two men teed off with the over­all and B-grade win­ner be­ing Kelvin Stephens with a nett 67.

The A-grade win­ner was Matt Goldman on 69, who edged out Paul Douth­waite on a count­back.

The C-grade win­ner was Jim Dow­ell on 68, and run­ner-up Mick Dibben on 69, ahead of Dean Kercher on a count­back.

The B-grade run­ner up was Mick Ka­vanagh on 71.

Oth­ers in the run­down were John Dodds, Kaylem Douth­waite, Peter Lewis and Barry Mor­timer, all on 70, Ben Mo­ran and Mark Richards on 71, and Troy Smith, Rod Wecker and Andy Pear­son on 72.

The pin shots went to Barry Mor­timer, two, Benn Ryan, nine, Tina Baden­horst 13 and Rod Wecker 16.

The ladies’ win­ner was Sherri Meade, tak­ing top spot from Anna Win­ter­bourn and Wendy Bradley, with all three on 73 nett. Other placeget­ters were Paula McQuat and Kath Borer on 74, and Heather Lu­vis and Penny Wardroper on 75.

Mandy Patterson took the pin shot and Wendy Bradley least putts with 28.

The men’s Thurs­day com­pe­ti­tion saw Lewis Tuck take the hon­ours in A-grade with 40 stable­ford points. Nathan Holmes was run­ner-up with 38.

The pin shots went to Lewis Tuck, War­ren Deighton, Barry Mor­timer and Wayne Temby.

On Au­gust 30, the ladies played a sin­gle stable­ford which saw Robyn Whitham take the choco­lates with 41.
