Whitsunday play­ers hit the Can­non­vale courts

TEN­NIS: The squads took part in their own ver­sion of the US Open Dou­bles Ten­nis tour­na­ment on Wed­nes­day.

There was some fan­tas­tic ten­nis and the boys played many long ral­lies.

The sports­man­ship be­tween the com­peti­tors was won­der­ful. The win­ning pairs were in the Bronze squad Jett Bleine and Nate Porter and in the Sil­ver squad Isaac Porter and Ri­ley O’Grady.

In Tues­day af­ter­noon so­cial ten­nis Larry and Marlene blitzed their op­po­nents.

And dur­ing so­cial ten­nis on Tues­day Daniel and Tad took it to the wire against Peter and Norm.

Mon­day af­ter­noon pro­duced two stand-out lessons of the X-Drill.

First to hit his straps was Ja­cob fol­lowed by Ol­lie Whey­way. Both young­sters hit many balls over the net.

Thurs­day night so­cial ten­nis gave Jenny and Tad time for a catch-up.

Fri­day morn­ing Fit, Fun Ten­nis the up­beat car­dio work­out on a ten­nis court was a hot af­fair and per­haps a hint of things to come. While out on court at so­cial Satur­day ten­nis play­ers could hear the young­sters per­form­ing the songs from The Lion King at the Can­non­vale State School.
