WINNING the coveted Backpacker Accommodation gold was validation for the hard work of the entire team, according to Magnums’ Backpackers’ spokeswoman Elizabeth Hackett.

“The award is a reward for all the work and investment by the company and the team,” Ms Hackett said.

“It has been a tough year for our team on a personal level and yet they continue to perform at a level that is above and beyond our expectations.”

She believed that Magnums’ Backpackers, which was also inducted into the Hall of Fame on Saturday, stood out from the pack this year because it strived to achieve its mission statement every day.

“Life is a journey, it is our responsibility to ensure that this journey is improved for ALL who work and visit us at Magnums’ Backpackers,” reads the dictum.

“This mission statement is the centre of all decisions made by the team or for the team,” Ms Hackett said.

Owned and operated by a team of long-term dedicated and passionate locals, Magnums is the Whitsundays’ original backpacking property.

Located in the heart of Airlie Beach, Magnums offers its guests a true taste of staying in the tropics and understands the importance of providing the total Whitsundays’ experience.

Literally a minute’s walk from the hustle and bustle of the vibrant town centre, Magnums continues to provide travellers with well priced, budget accommodation for individuals and groups.
