Ladies hit course for QLD Champs

GOLF: Proser­pine women fea­tured well in the lower grades with Noe­line Spur­way B-grade gross run­ner-up, Penny Wardroper nett win­ner and Jacquie Wall run­ner-up.

Beryl Nos­wor­thy won the over­all C-grade from Paula McQuat.

Sherri Meade, Jill Farinelli and Paula McQuat also took out pin shots over the week­end.

Satur­day’s sin­gle stable­ford, run af­ter the NQ Ladies Open field had hit off, was won by Jim Grace on a count­back from Lewis Tuck with both play­ers fin­ish­ing on 43 points.

In the run down were Michael Leo, Cody McLean and Paul Joice, all on 42.

They were fol­lowed by War­ren Deighton, 41, Nic Langevad, Greg Walker and Ge­orge Steane with 39.

The pin shots went to Craig Langeval two, Ge­orge Steane nine, Nic Langevad 13 and Lewis Tuck 16.

Michael Ward took out the A-grade on Thurs­day with 41 points from Barry Mor­timer 39.

The B-grade was won on a count back by Brendon Me­harry from Peter Brown­ing, both with 42 points.
