Greenless bowlers welcomed in Bowen and Prossie

Whitsunday Times - - SPORT -

Last Tuesday, the ladies division had its monthly meeting, which was well attended, and afterwards seven ladies went to Wangaratta in Bowen to play in the afternoon.

Once again, the club was welcomed with open arms during the period that the Airlie Beach green has been out of action.

On Wednesday afternoon, members went into Proserpine to play, as they have been doing for some weeks. In Sunday’s social bowls in Proserpine, four rinks of triples competed for the prizes that were on offer, which were provided by Airlie Beach Bowls Club.

A sausage sizzle was provided after the games as a thank you to Proserpine for having the Airlie Beach bowlers over these past few weeks.

The Airlie Beach ladies One-Day Carnival that was scheduled for Monday has had to be cancelled due to the green not being available.

Tomorrow, members and friends are invited to come to the club for a social get-together.

Dinner will be available at a cost of $10 per person, and the club looks forward to seeing as many members as possible come along.
