Can’t cheat the system

Whitsunday Times - - NEWS -

A 51-YEAR-OLD Jubilee Pocket man thought he could outsmart the system by refusing to provide a specimen of breath for a roadside breath test at 1.45am on Sunday.

Officer in charge of Whitsunday Police Barry Haran said the breath test was a legal requirement and if a person failed to comply they were breaking the law.

“The penalties for this charge are the same as a high range drink-drive; you will still go to court, lose your licence, receive a fine and possibly get a conviction on your record,” he said.
