ONE YEAR AGO...
THE Airlie Beach Lagoon reopened following repairs and a facelift after tropical Cyclone Debbie tore through.
When Debbie hit, the pumping infrastructure sustained major damage after sewage entered the filtration system.
Refurbishments included a new pool surface, new tiling around the edges of the pool, resurfacing of the pedestrian bridge across the lagoon and new footpaths.
Landscaping and new garden beds and shade sails were installed to complete the revitalisation works before the lagoon was opened to the public.
