Bus trips await volunteer
A CANNONVALE school volunteer will be catching the bus to work after being disqualified from driving for four months.
Proserpine Magistrates Court heard on Monday that Vicki Joy Thompson recorded a reading of 0.082 after being stopped by police on Shute Harbour Road, Jubilee Pocket, at 8.45pm on August 11.
She admitted drinking two stubbies of beer at home.
“I study full-time and work 20 hours a week as well as volunteering at Cannonvale school,” she said. “I will have to catch the bus.”
Thompson was disqualified from driving for four months for driving over the general alcohol limit and fined $500 with a conviction recorded.
