Less wind re­sults in fine scores

PROSER­PINE GOLF: The winds have sub­sided and again this is re­flected in this week’s golf scores.

Satur­day’s men’s sin­gle sta­ble­ford was won by David Bower with 42 points, from Chris Doblo, 41.

In the run down was Rob Stan­ley, 39, Michael Cragg, Roger Van­den­berg and Ben Har­ri­son, 38, with Bruce Fielder and Matthew Faust on 37.

Wayne Fitzger­ald and Trevor Paroz with 36 com­pleted the run down.

The pin shots went to Nic Langevad on two, Philip Luck­ett on nine, John Roser 13 and Rus­sell Brauer 16.

Noe­lene Spur­way took the ladies’ event with 38 points, with Mar­lene Gray in sec­ond place on 35.

In the run down were Laura An­der­son, Jill Farinelli, Paula McQuat and Wendy Bradley.

Laura An­der­son took the pin shot on hole nine.

Forty-four play­ers turned out on Thurs­day for the men’s sin­gle sta­ble­ford.

Win­ner of the 18-hole com­pe­ti­tion was Rob Stan­ley with 43 points, from David Gates 42. In third spot was Nathan Holmes on 40.

In the run down were Kevin Camp­bell, 39, Rus­sell Rear­don Mick Bur­rows, Chris Brett, Joe Tay­lor and Nic Langevad, all with 38 points.

These were fol­lowed by War­ren Deighton 37, Jim Dow­ell, Bren­don Me­harry and Ken Granger on 36.

Nine-hole win­ner was David Gates on 22, fol­lowed by Ken Granger and Nic Langevad on 21.

The pin shots went to Craig Langevad, Ken Granger, Rob Stan­ley and David Gates.

Wed­nes­day’s ladies’ com­pe­ti­tion was won by Jo-Ann Muller with 38 points, from Paula McQuat on 34.

Fea­tur­ing in the run down were Ti­ina Rand­mae, Ber­nice Pe­tersen, Mar­lene Gray and Toni Clauss.

Ti­ina and Paula took the pins on nine and 10, while El­speth Scot­ford pro­duced a gem on num­ber 16.

Next week­end the Proser­pine course will be closed on Satur­day and Sun­day, due to the North Queens­land C Grade Pen­nants be­ing played here.
