Less wind results in fine scores
PROSERPINE GOLF: The winds have subsided and again this is reflected in this week’s golf scores.
Saturday’s men’s single stableford was won by David Bower with 42 points, from Chris Doblo, 41.
In the run down was Rob Stanley, 39, Michael Cragg, Roger Vandenberg and Ben Harrison, 38, with Bruce Fielder and Matthew Faust on 37.
Wayne Fitzgerald and Trevor Paroz with 36 completed the run down.
The pin shots went to Nic Langevad on two, Philip Luckett on nine, John Roser 13 and Russell Brauer 16.
Noelene Spurway took the ladies’ event with 38 points, with Marlene Gray in second place on 35.
In the run down were Laura Anderson, Jill Farinelli, Paula McQuat and Wendy Bradley.
Laura Anderson took the pin shot on hole nine.
Forty-four players turned out on Thursday for the men’s single stableford.
Winner of the 18-hole competition was Rob Stanley with 43 points, from David Gates 42. In third spot was Nathan Holmes on 40.
In the run down were Kevin Campbell, 39, Russell Reardon Mick Burrows, Chris Brett, Joe Taylor and Nic Langevad, all with 38 points.
These were followed by Warren Deighton 37, Jim Dowell, Brendon Meharry and Ken Granger on 36.
Nine-hole winner was David Gates on 22, followed by Ken Granger and Nic Langevad on 21.
The pin shots went to Craig Langevad, Ken Granger, Rob Stanley and David Gates.
Wednesday’s ladies’ competition was won by Jo-Ann Muller with 38 points, from Paula McQuat on 34.
Featuring in the run down were Tiina Randmae, Bernice Petersen, Marlene Gray and Toni Clauss.
Tiina and Paula took the pins on nine and 10, while Elspeth Scotford produced a gem on number 16.
Next weekend the Proserpine course will be closed on Saturday and Sunday, due to the North Queensland C Grade Pennants being played here.
