Whitsunday Times - - CHILL -

CANNONVALE Library is hosting a range of activities for children these school holidays.

Upcycle an old milk bottle by turning it into a cool garden sculpture at Garden Jug Heads today from 10am to 11am or 2pm to 3pm.

Ages 6+ are welcome with a 20-person limit per session. Bookings are essential.

The event is proudly supported by Whitsunday Organic Community Garden.

Fun Palace will also run on Saturday, 9am to 11.30am, for anyone who has a love of art and science.

Create Lego ziplines, colour diffusing art, slime and stress balls, and window art, learn to weave, or participate in build challenges and the adventures box.

This event is for all ages. Bookings are not required.

Library assistant Sharon Lam said the activities helped children to keep their minds active in a fun and creative way.

“They’re free, fun community events. We do different activities which get children off their devices and doing something hands-on which ignites their creativity,” Ms Lam said.
