Get on with the job of repairing the hub

Whitsunday Times - - YOUR SAY -

WE’RE told that there is no

money to repair the hub of our community, the Entertainment Centre.

Well here’s a suggestion. Sell the Cane Farm “Havengrand” at Brandy Creek, bought for a supposed sports park that the then council bought against the wishes of the majority.

The cost was over

$2 million.

It’s worth was, at best, a third of that price.

Four of our seven councillors are still in office now.

Can we have the representation that councillors were elected to do?

The community is tired of waiting for some positive action – it’s not just about bums on aeroplane seats.

The Entertainment Centre is about community events such as school musicals, dance concerts, all kinds of entertainment, memorials, parties, weddings etc. Then the road travellers, they need an Information Centre.

Thousands of caravans and RVs pass us by every year, taking their money elsewhere.

An Information Centre, an RV stop and a functioning Entertainment Centre, would not just benefit Proserpine but the whole of the Whitsundays. We need some action NOW. — Olga Dufty,

Proserpine
