Whitsunday Times - - SPORT -

CRICKET: It’s time to hang up the footy boots, dust off the cricket gear at the back of the closet and prepare for the 2018/2019 Senior Cricket season which will get underway this Saturday at 12.30pm sharp at the Proserpine Sporting Complex at Kelsey Creek Road, Proserpine.

The season will start immediately, with last year’s premiers Canecutters taking on Valleys in a rematch of last season’s grand final.

Valleys will be out for redemption, while Canecutters will be hoping to continue their winning form into the new season.

Games are $10 per player on a “pay as you play” basis with no annual sign-on fee and gear is available to borrow should players not have their own equipment.

All teams are looking for new or returning players.

Those interested of any age or gender, including juniors wishing to make the jump into senior cricket, can contact Dale Mengel (0410 895 191) or Craig Brown (4945 1983) for further information.
