VETERANS GOLF: Nicola Apruzzese’s form is hotter than the Sahara Desert.

Apruzzese continues to dazzle his way through the Veterans Golf scene.

He enjoyed prize success for the second successive week after powering his way through the men’s stableford event on Tuesday.

Apruzzese shot the lights out, recording an outstanding score of 49 points, to finish nine, yes nine clear of his nearest rival.

That was Peter Browning, who carded 40 points.

Kenneth Lovett, Trevor Paroz, Albert Pini, William Jesser and Peter Fox featured in the ball run down.

It was no surprise that Apruzzese won the nine-hole event with 27 points, five clear of Browning.

NTP: Jim Dowell (2nd), Trevor Paroz (9th), Bill Woods (13th), Peter Lewis (16th).

In the ladies stableford, Robyn Whitham was in outstanding touch, scoring 44 points to prevail by a six shot margin.

Beryl Nosworthy finished runner-up with 38 points.

The pair fought out a tough match that went to five games before Skaife prevailed 3/39 to 2/31.

In other matches featuring Team 3 against Team 4, Joy Vitanza sealed an impressive win against Di O’Donnell 3/34 to 1/14, while Julie Mitchell was in exquisite form on her way to a dominant victory against Ida Arici.

Team 1 played Team 2, with all three winners clear cut.

Leanne Hinschen accounted for Alex Ogilvie-Knight 3/27 to 0/7, Louise Cox displayed some quality form to defeat Brenda Cowan 3/27 to 0/10 and Pauline Ogilvie beat Marian Churchward 3/27 to 0/14.
