A crew member dies on the set of ‘Deadpool 2’
TRAGEDY STRUCK THE VANCOUVER set of Deadpool 2 on Aug. 14 when stuntwoman Joi “S.J.” Harris was killed during a stunt. “We’re heartbroken, shocked and devastated,” tweeted the film’s star, Ryan Reynolds. “But recognise nothing can come close to the grief and inexplicable pain her family and loved ones must feel in this moment.”
The stunt driver, who billed herself as the first African-american female road racer, reportedly lost control of her motorcycle during a stunt, jumped a curb and crashed through a plate-glass window. As director David Leitch told WHO, “No words can express how I and the rest of the Deadpool 2 crew feel about this tragedy.”
