The My Dad Wrote a Porno podcast is brought to life across Australia from Aug. 15–24. For info, visit livenation.com.au. In 2015, the writer and his BBC Radio 1 pals James Cooper and Alice Levine started sharing chapters from his father’s cringe-inducing erotic novel on a podcast called My Dad Wrote a Porno. Seventy-million downloads later, Morton and friends are now take their readings on the road.

1 HE’S TOURING AUSTRALIA Morton and the gang will present “The Lost Chapter” of Rocky Flintstone’s Belinda Blinked onstage and add “video elements, re-enactments and audience participation,”2 Morton promises. THE PODCAST HAS ITS OWN COSPLAYERS “Bringing Rocky’s work to the stage has opened our eyes to quite how popular his writing is,” Morton says. “People come dressed as the characters, they shout out quotes from 3 the books—it’s amazing.” CELEBRITY FANS ABOUND While Elijah Wood was the show’s first super-booster, “discovering that Daisy Ridley had been listening to dad-porn on the set of Star Wars blew our minds,” Morton4 says. HE’S MADE HIS DAD WRITE EVEN MORE BOOKS “That was certainly never my intention!” Morton concedes. “Although the podcast centres on us critiquing his work, I do feel like he is a kind of mad scientist of language, and am always intrigued to see what 5he’s dreamed of next.” THEIR DAD-SON BOND HAS GROWN “I have finally been able to see him not as a father but as a man,” Morton says. “I’m so lucky.”

Cooper (far left), Morton and Levine tour together. Working with his dad “has changed my life,” says Morton.

Author Rocky Flintstone (in London) is a retired builder.
