FOR MOST NEW COUPLES, A quick kiss wouldn’t merit notice. For Bachelorette star Sophie Monk and boyfriend Stu Laundy, each step has been dissected and scrutinised. “We haven’t had privacy yet, to be honest,” Monk told Lisa Wilkinson during a Nov. 6 Huffington Post Australia Facebook Live chat. “Even normal people take photos!” But, she acknowledged, “It’s part of what I’ve signed up for.”

To placate any doubters, Monk, 37, still had to tell Wilkinson she and Laundy had seen each other that very morning, and two days earlier, publican Laundy, 44, told The Daily Telegraph, “In simple terms, I have been dating Soph for a couple of months.” He then added, “What sort of couple who have been dating that long get asked, walking down the street, about kids, marriage, the future? It is very early days.”

So early that the memory of their stilted body language on shows such as The Project still lingers. “I’m not into that,” Monk told Wilkinson of engaging in PDA. “He didn’t want to be in the industry, which is what I like about him.”

What she also likes is a laugh. The father-of-four is “a lot funnier than you’ve seen,” Monk tells WHO. “We share the same sense of humour.”

“We are just a couple starting out in a relationship and very happy with each other,” Laundy (with Monk in Sydney’s Surry Hills on Nov. 2) told The Daily Telegraph. “It is a pressure cooker.”

Monk and Laundy on Nov. 1 in Bondi, Sydney. “People come in and out of Sophie’s life,” her friend Oscar Gordon told WHO, “and to finally see her with someone who can make her feel good makes me really happy.”

The couple (on Nov. 1) say they have both been in touch with runnerup Jarrod Woodgate, who Monk calls “a kind, genuine person.”
