The Bogan Hunters host, 45, is back with new series Deadly Down Under (starts Thurs., Oct. 11 at 8:30pm; 7Mate).
What is your new show about?
It’s a massive road trip adventure and we find the deadliest stuff – from animals to environments, and crazy mysteries like UFOS and ghosts. We went to two of the most haunted places in Australia.
What was the deadliest creature you encountered during filming?
It’s neck and neck – I pulled a 3m crocodile out of the water, but I also had an encounter with an eastern brown snake. It went between my legs – I don’t know if you can get closer than that.
Any mishaps during filming?
We had a chopper break down in the middle of the Simpson Desert.
Your work can be divisive. What do you have to say to critics?
If you don’t like it, don’t watch it. But I have managed to stay on television for nearly 20 years so I am doing something right.
“There were so many times when it could have gone sour,” Fenech says.
