Num­ber of pas­sen­gers stranded fol­low­ing a ma­jor IT fail­ure at Bri­tish Air­ways over the Spring Bank Hol­i­day week­end. Ap­par­ently caused by an IT con­trac­tor, the melt­down wiped £500 mil­lion off the mar­ket value of IAG, Bri­tish Air­ways’ par­ent com­pany at one point. The com­pany also faces an es­ti­mated £150 mil­lion com­pen­sa­tion bill.
