Windows 7 Help & Advice - - WINDOWS HELP & ADVICE - Your guide Ed Ricketts says…

Windows Defender was always an essential part of Windows 10, checking and protecting against malware, but with the latest Creators Update, it has become even more useful. Now renamed Windows Defender Security Centre, it provides a one-stop-shop for ensuring your computer is protected against viruses and malware, enabling you to manage the firewall, providing controls for restricting access to websites, and much more.

Apart from the ‘Family options’ settings, each set of controls displays a colour-coded icon so you can instantly check their status. A green tick shows that everything’s working as it should. A yellow exclamation mark indicates that there’s a recommendation for you to look at, and a red cross indicates that a setting needs immediate attention, because your machine might be at risk. Now, let’s protect your PC!

Ed’s best tip! The options on the Family Settings web page only appear in Internet Explorer and Edge , not other browsers.
