Recover lost data with Recuva

Windows Help & Advice - - WINDOWS 10 OCTOBER 2018 UPDATE REVEALED -

1 Install Recuva

If necessary, download the portable version of Recuva (from www. ccleaner.com/recuva/builds) directly to any drive other than the one Windows is installed on. Next, extract the contents of the ZIP file to the same drive, then double-click recuva.exe (32-bit) or recuva64.exe (64-bit) to get started.

2 Recover filested

The wizard will guide you through the process of recovering your files – in all likelihood you’ll need to leave All Files selected. Click ‘Next’, then click Browse under ‘Specific location’ to select C:\Users\{Username} where most of your missing files should normally reside. Click ‘Next’.

3 Deep Scan

If your files only recently went missing, don’t enable the Deep Scan option. Instead, click Start and wait for the scan to complete. A list of files will be displayed – green ones should be recoverable. Tick those you want to restore and click Recover to save them to a different drive.
