Our beauty editor Elise Wilson goes under the needle with the Real Housewives star

S eeking eternal youth and skin perfection, I enlisted the help of beauty expert Matty Samaei of The Real Housewives Of Sydney. Here’s what happened…

I’m a huge fan of lipstick. Matty suggested I further enhance my pout, even up my top-bottom lip ratio and crisp up my mouth edges. My lips were numbed with a topical cream, then Matty made small, delicate injections using a hyaluronic acid filler – with instant results. My pout did swell slightly and I had a small upper-lip bruise, coverable with makeup. COST: from $400

My fine lines aren’t bad, but I’ve been conscious of them for a few years, especially ones around my eyes. Matty said an injectable muscle relaxer was a great option. “It’s one of my favourite procedures because the dosage of the drug can be precisely monitored, meaning I can do a treatment that doesn’t ‘freeze’ my clients’ faces and it works fast.” COST: from $300

For me, skin dullness is a concern so Matty insisted I have a microdermabrasion facial, likening it to vacuuming a car. I was hesitant, but it was relaxing, and satisfying to see nasties sucked from my blocked pores. Downtime was minimal – just a slight redness, fading quickly. COST: $150

I wasn’t sure I needed the Re-firme skin tightening around my jawline and neck, but Matty assured me it would prevent sagging skin later on. The radiofrequency heated deeper skin layers, stimulating and helping to rebuild collagen. The machine felt like a rubber band flicking my skin, but pain was a mere three out of 10 – so more than bearable. COST: $450
