Women's Health Australia - - CONTENTS - Jacqui Mooney Editor @Jacquimooney jacqmooney

A very wise woman once said, ‘Know your why’. That thing that gets you out of bed in the morning. When you do, everything else naturally falls into place. At Women’s Health, we do what we do because we believe in a happier, healthier life for Aussie women. And this issue, we couldn’t be more thrilled, humbled or grateful to be celebrating one seriously big milestone: our 10th birthday. Why? As we said in that very first editor’s letter back in 2007, to make your great life even better.

Over the past 10 years (120 issues, to be precise!) we’ve made it our mission to deliver the motivation and inspiration you need to be the very best version of yourself, daily. In short: happier, healthier, fitter, calmer, stronger (both physically and mentally) and more content. No preaching. No fluff. Just smart, science-backed advice designed to make a positive difference.

Since that very first issue hit Aussie newsstands, a lot has changed. Ten years ago, Instagram didn’t even exist. Steve Jobs had only just debuted the iphone (to epic fanfare), and health seekers were finally emerging from the Atkins low-carb craze. But while we’ve evolved and changed (check out p10 for a look back at some of our major milestones), our mission has remained the same: to be just as comfortable talking about sex as we are the latest sneakers, and to put every woman in the driver’s seat of her own life.

Over the past decade, we’ve done some incredible things. Written reports on everything from egg freezing to elliptical training. Run campaigns to raise awareness about breast and ovarian cancers. Shot hot trainers and swimsuits everywhere from

Tahiti to Townsville. Launched the groundbreaking Women in Sport campaign almost seven years ago. And much more. It’s been an amazing ride and we couldn’t be happier to share it with you. Thanks to those who’ve been part of our WH tribe from day one. And to all the new readers who’ve joined us along the way. Here’s to the next 10!
