1 Detox retreat Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat, Gold Coast, Qld

Take time out for a total reset. This place is all about peace and no distractions, so caffeine and booze are banned from your suitcase, plus you’re encouraged to leave phones in your room. Stays range from two to seven days, and programs include wellness seminars and activities such as meditation and hiking. The best bit? Each day, ‘Dreamtime’ is factored in for you to stop and relax, whether you want to nap, swim or get your spa on. If you need us, we’ll be in the Crystal Steam Room. gwinganna.com

2 Solo searching Samadhi Retreat, Daylesford, Vic

Forget crossing your fingers for a massage appointment to open up – only one person, couple or small group stays here at a time, so essentially it’s your own luxurious private retreat (#winning).

Nothing is overlooked, from the tailored organic menu to the customised spa treatments and wellness therapies such as reiki and guided visualisation. Get ready for a dose of calm. samadhiretreat.com.au

3 THE YOGA SPOT WH Features Writer Anthea found her inner zen at Billabong Retreat in Sydney, NSW

This eco yoga retreat is just 45 minutes north-west of the Sydney CBD, in the bushland at Maraylya. Its best feature? The yoga pavilion with floor-to-ceiling windows that look out on the bush and beyond; guaranteed to make you fall into a deeper savasana after your twicedaily yoga. The cabins are basic but nestled in the treetops, which was a real treat to wake up to. Add in the organic vego food and on-site spa, and I left a very happy yogi. billabong retreat.com.au
