Since the noughties, noth­ing has knocked blues off the num­ber one su­per­food spot. But our eyes could soon wan­der to the lesser-known baobab fruit, tipped to be the next big thing, says Green. Baobab is re­ferred to as the ‘tree of life’ in Africa be­cause of its high lev­els of es­sen­tial nu­tri­ents; the fruit pulp is used to make a pow­der with a cit­rusy flavour. “It’s packed with an­tiox­i­dants, with more Vi­ta­min C than go­jis and blue­ber­ries,” Green says.
