STRAIGHT PUNCHES

A Jab

(i) Ex­tend your left hand to­wards the tar­get, turn­ing your palm to the floor and rolling your shoul­der to nat­u­rally cover your chin.

(ii) Snap your hand back to your chin as quickly as you can. And you’re done.

B Cross

(i) Twist your right foot into the floor, forc­ing your hips to turn to­wards the tar­get.

(ii) Ex­tend your right arm, turn­ing your palm to the floor, then snap your hand back to your chin.

HOOKS

C Front hook

(i) Lift your left heel and pivot your feet, ro­tat­ing your body with the punch.

(ii) Make a 90° hook shape with your left arm and punch, keep­ing your el­bow high and your fore­arm sit­ting par­al­lel to the floor.

D Rear hook

(i) Twist your right foot into the floor, forc­ing your hips to turn to­wards the tar­get.

(ii) Make a 90° hook shape with your right arm and then punch with your el­bow high and your fore­arm par­al­lel to the floor. Easy!

UPPERCUTS

E Front up­per­cut

(i) Lift your left heel to pivot and ro­tate with the punch.

(ii) Drop your left fist and swing it up, palm fac­ing you.

F Rear up­per­cut

(i) Twist your right foot to turn your hips to­wards the tar­get.

(ii) Drop your right fist and swing it up, palm fac­ing you.
