This ir­re­sistible combo is per­fect as a pick-me-up on days when PMS has you down. The gin­ger helps re­lieve men­strual pain and cramps, and the oats are high in zinc and mag­ne­sium, which can also help pre­vent and ease cramps. Ba­nanas are loaded with vi­ta­min B6, which lessens cramp­ing, and they are also high in potas­sium, which re­duces water re­ten­tion and bloat­ing.


1½ cups unsweet­ened al­mond milk, co­conut milk, or co­conut water

1 orange, peeled

1 fresh or frozen banana

1 cup frozen strawberries

½ cup rolled (old-fashioned) oats ¼ tsp ground gin­ger

¼ tsp ground cin­na­mon

¼ tsp ground turmeric

In a blender, com­bine the milk or co­conut water, orange, banana, strawberries, oats, gin­ger, cin­na­mon and turmeric. Blend un­til your de­sired con­sis­tency is reached. Then serve! Per serv­ing: 1845kj, 8g fat (1g sat fat), 89g carbs (34g su­gar), 15g fi­bre, 10g pro­tein, 276mg sodium
