Drink­ing wa­ter – a hu­man right or not?

On 28th July 2010, ac­cess to clean wa­ter was recog­nised as a ba­sic hu­man right by the Gen­eral Assem­bly of the United Na­tions. In spite of that more than 3.5 mil­lion peo­ple die ev­ery year be­cause they only have ac­cess to dirty drink­ing wa­ter. Of­ten their wells, which pro­vide cleaner wa­ter, are drained dry by the food industry.
