HOL­LOW-DWELLERS The hor­net is an­other in­sect that likes to seek shel­ter in old oak hol­lows. They build com­mu­nal nests by chew­ing bark to make a pa­pery pulp. Their no­to­ri­ous rep­u­ta­tion as a killer in­sect means they are of­ten look­ing for shel­ters where they can hide out in peace.
