Ju­nior sports car­ni­val suc­cess

Ju­nior net­ballers and foot­ballers from across the re­gion con­verged at Vic Park on Sun­day for the in­au­gu­ral Yar­ra­wonga Ju­nior Car­ni­val.

A fan­tas­tic day was had by all with more than 300 com­peti­tors in ac­tion through­out the day and their fam­i­lies and sup­port­ers all en­joy­ing the round-robin style com­pe­ti­tion.

Apart from a great day of ju­nior sport ac­tion, the ini­tia­tive raised more than $5000 to be split evenly be­tween Yar­ra­wonga & District Lit­tle League (foot­ball), Yar­ra­wonga & District Netball As­so­ci­a­tion, Sa­cred Heart Pri­mary and Yar­ra­wonga P-12 Pri­mary.

The or­gan­is­ers of­fer a big thank you to the spon­sors Yar­ra­wonga Chron­i­cle, In­ter­sport Win­gates Yar­ra­wonga and Co­bram, ClubMul­wala, STF En­gi­neer­ing and Red Back Toi­lets.

Thanks also the vol­un­teers from both schools, coaches, team mangers and the or­gan­is­ing com­mit­tee.

Un­der 8s Ren­nie 42 de­feated Corowa 27, Un­der 10s Yar­ra­wonga Blue 13 de­feated Ren­nie 9, Un­der 12s Ren­nie 37 de­feated Tungamah 6.

Netball re­sults

Un­der 12s Mix­ture (Yar­ra­wonga) def Myrtle­ford, Un­der 10s Tungamah de­feated Jer­ilderie, Un­der 8s Bub­blegum (Yar­ra­wonga) def Girl Power (Yar­ra­wonga).
