Tremendous atmosphere at Wilby Dance

Yarrawonga Chronicle - - Classies -

An enthusiastic crowd of old time dancing enthusiasts gathered at Wilby Hall for the regular bimonthly Sunday Afternoon Tea Dance on August 27.

Everyone agreed that there is always a terrific mood and great friendliness at this venue. The good-sized hall and excellent dance floor is perfect for this type of event.

The program included a wide variety of nuvogue dances from Foxtrots, Viennese Waltzes and Tango Rhythms.

Russell Leskie’s dance music selection is always popular and has the whole room joining in with great style.

Dancing started at 1pm and continued through the afternoon until 5pm, which kept everyone warm on a cool late winter day.

Couples travelled from as far as Shepparton, Echuca, Katamatite and Wangaratta as well as nearby districts to be part of the fun.

The afternoon tea was outstanding and greatly enjoyed by everyone with the special Wilby milk coffee proving to be a favourite.

The next dance will be held in two months on Sunday, October 29.
