League counts to be live streamed
History will be made on Monday night with the Picola District Football Netball League vote count being streamed live.
McPherson Media Group will broadcast the South East awards ceremony in a first for football and netball in the region.
The vote count will be available to watch from 7.15pm at www.sheppnews.com.au, with the seniors, reserves, A-grade netball, B-grade, C-grade and C-Reserve’s medals up for grabs.
It will be the start of an online sporting bonanza in September, with the Murray League’s medal count getting the same treatment.
But it will not just be the presentation nights that will be shown online, with the PDFL’s north-west and south-east grand finals also available to watch.
The south-east grand final will be at Katandra on September 16, with the semi-finals taking place this weekend.
MMG managing director Damian Trezise said he was looking forward to delivering football coverage to those who cannot attend the vote counts and grand finals.
‘‘We think it’s an innovative way to profile the PDFNL by live-streaming both the vote counts and grand finals,’’ Trezise said.
‘‘We’ve always been interested in expanding our football coverage outside of just print and this is a great way to do it.
‘‘Not everyone can get to a vote count, so it’s exciting to be able to showcase all leagues to a bigger audience.’’
Shepparton News’ dedicated team of sports journalists, Oliver Caffrey, Lauren Bordin, Tyler Maher and Adem Barolli will be involved in the coverage, along with Shepparton News Footy Show hosts David Fox and John ‘‘JR’’ Ryan.
Live streaming schedule; PDFL south-east vote count - September 11, PDFL south-east grand final - September 16, MFL vote count - September 17.
