Water Council representative
Federation Council’s representative on the Riverina Water County Council is Mayor Pat Bourke, as decided at council’s inaugural monthly meeting of elected councillors on September 26.
The Riverina Water County Council (RWCC) was formed on May 2, 1997 and distributes water within the Federation Council area to Urana, Boree Creek, Morundah, Oaklands, Rand and rural properties in between.
RWCC members consist of five members from Wagga Wagga City, and one each from Lockhart and Federation Councils, and two from Great Hume Shire.
Delegates are appointed for a four-yearterm but Cr Bourke’s term is for three years to co-incide with Federation Council’s threeyear-terms for councillors.
RWCC covers an area of 14,500 square kilometres supplying a population of 67,000 people through 30,000 service connections and also distributes water to Wagga Wagga, and Greater Hume and Lockhart Shires.
Meetings are held bi-monthly on the fourth Wednesday of the month in Wagga and once a year at a participating council.
Delegates receive payment of $482.50 per month from RWCC as well as 75 cents per km travel allowance.
