Christmas message from Mayor Libro Mustica

Yarrawonga Chronicle - - Front Page -

On behalf of my fellow councillors, may I take this opportunity to wish you and your family a safe and festive Christmas season.

To be named as Mayor of Moira Shire was a great honour and I am proud of the string of achievements in 2017 particularly delivering a record capital works budget of $13.08 million.

We have maintained a 4,000km local road network, 80 bridges, 239km of kerbs and channels plus 60km of footpaths.

This year we registered nearly 6,000 animals and reunited around 300 pets with their owners.

We have continued to provide free childhood immunisation services and are leading the nation with our immunisation rates.

Our community and event grants assisted more than 70 groups and associations to deliver valuable services within their local communities.

I would like to thank council’s dedicated staff, led by CEO Mark Henderson, for all their hard work throughout the year and I look forward to working with you all in 2018.

Whether you are travelling near or far, please stay safe.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
