YMCC lead­ing the way

The Yar­ra­wonga Mul­wala Cricket Club con­tin­ues to be a pro­duc­tive en­vi­ron­ment with a host of play­ers cho­sen in lead­er­ship roles at rep­re­sen­ta­tive level.

From club to league to state lead­er­ship, the Lak­ers have recog­nised lead­ers across all grades within the se­nior and ju­nior club.

The North East Knights are the re­gion’s rep­re­sen­ta­tive team that plays in the State Cham­pi­onships each and ev­ery year from Un­der 12’s right through to Un­der 21 lev­els.

The YMCC are proud of the fol­low play­ers who have been recog­nised with lead­er­ship roles at state, re­gion and club level.

Zac Fraser was named vice cap­tain of the North East Knights Un­der 14 team, even though he was a bot­tom age player.

Will Sharp was named cap­tain of the Un­der 16 North East Knights, while James Jor­don was se­lected Cap­tain of the Un­der 18 North East Knights as a bot­tom age player as well.

A Grade Vice Cap­tain Reid Clarke has en­joyed a highly suc­cess­ful rep­re­sen­ta­tive year. Clarke was named vice cap­tain of the Un­der 21 North East Knights; while also be­ing vice cap­tain of the Wan­garatta and District Cricket As­so­ci­a­tion Bendigo Coun­try Week team which won di­vi­sion two at the car­ni­val.

For a small club the pro­fes­sion­al­ism and work ethic of these play­ers has been recog­nised with lead­er­ship roles across all forms of cricket.

On Feb­ru­ary 11th, James Irvine and Matt Casey will rep­re­sent Vic­to­ria Coun­try Un­der 21 in their an­nual clash with Vic­to­ria Metropoli­tan. The game will be played at Queen El­iz­a­beth Oval in Bendigo.
