Co­bram Neigh­bour­hood Watch and Co­bram/Ba­rooga Ki­wa­nis held a lo­cal ‘Safe Plate Day’ at Wool­worths in Co­bram on Satur­day, April 21 to warn against num­ber plate theft.

The event was sup­ported by lo­cal po­lice who joined the vol­un­teers on the tools.

Fifty-eight ve­hi­cles had the anti-theft tam­per proof screws fit­ted, which is en­cour­ag­ing for anti-theft safety.

A gold coin do­na­tion along with a sausage siz­zle raised in ex­cess of $400 for Heart Kids.

Any per­son want­ing the tam­per screws can pur­chase them from a lo­cal hard­ware store or look­out for fu­ture safe plate days in Moira.
